Elizabeth chapter 42

Elizabeth whimpered at the missing dragon, clinging to Zeth as she shivered. "W-where'd it go?" she squeaked, seeing only the blood that the battle had left behind. Zeth knew the dragon would have died from when he snapped its neck, it couldn't have possibly gotten up and walked away, and it was far too big to be carried off, did it just… vanish? Elizabeth shook worse as she hid her face in his chest, whimpering more.

"It's alright Lizzy….It's alright…it probably just…vanished… I won't let it get you. I swear it." He whispered quietly, gently kissing her forehead and moving the hair out of her face with a warm tender smile. She couldn't help but smile back, feeling herself relax almost instantly; he always made her feel better, everything about him made her felt like the world was at peace as he continued walking.

"Ok…" she mumbled softly, nuzzling at his chest lovingly with a sweet smile before kissing his cheek softly, his cheek warm to the touch like it should be, making her only smile more now as she wrapped her arms around his strong, perfect neck, making her feel even safer as he smiled wider. They both soon found themselves lost in each other's eyes, their love seeming deeper than anyone else's in the entire universe as they touched noses lightly, then foreheads, Zeth still walking as their lips touched ardently, though briefly as Zeth tripped over a rock, sending them forward for a moment before he regained his balance, chuckling a bit.  "I think you need to start keeping your eyes on the trail." Elizabeth giggled as she lightly poked his forehead.

"Well it's pretty hard when I've got such a beautiful girl in my arms." He cooed. She blushed slightly, looking away as she lightly shoved his face away from hers playfully.

"Oh stop it Zeth." She bubbled with another giggle as she cuddled back to him, pulling his face back again to her lips, making him stop so he wouldn't trip again. "Such a perfect person you are Zeth." She cooed as she pulled away and he continued walking, trying to look ahead, only to get lost in Elizabeth's eyes again as she laid her head on his chest, looking at him with such innocence as her wings glittered, though folded to her back they we're still big and beautiful as her new tail slowly came up, wrapping around his arm slowly as the bladed tip glinted in the light, though when it came into contact with Zeth's arm, it seemed to fold and vanish as it reached up more and lightly fondled his cheek, her scales warm and smooth and seeming to have an almost velvet like fuzz over them as it wrapped around the back of his ear before running under his chin softly as her gaze never left his, her eyes growing deeper and deeper emerald as her smile never faded. Her tail was now running along his entire face, exploring it as her eyes started to drift back to sleep, her eyes straining to stay open as her tail rested around his neck like her arms did as he started singing a quiet lullaby to her, his voice deep and rumbling, then light and soft as his eyes sparked brightly as he smiled wide, so happy to be alive and with the love of his life right in his arms where she belonged. He suddenly heard the familiar sounds of the river, walking a bit faster, before suddenly stopping, seeing smoke rise in the air and the smell of charred plants striking his nose, striking fear in him as he broke into a run. Elizabeth let out a squeak as her tail and arms tightened around him, shivering slightly as she started to see burnt grass and trees and ash everywhere, only getting worse as they got closer to the source, though hardly able to see any more as it began to get dark again, the day ran by so fast they didn't realize it.  But that wasn't their concerns. Could this be the work of the black dragon? Or Heth? Could it have been Jenny or the so called Master Elemental? All of these questions and more ran through Zeth's mind as he ran, clutching Elizabeth tight as his fins flapped slightly in the wind, before suddenly closing up like Elizabeth's tail blade did,  letting him run faster as his feet crunched on the charred ground. His heart raced as panic as he saw small flickers of fire in various areas, but there was no accessible water at the moment for him to use at the moment, so there was nothing he could do right now as he forced himself faster, not only did that girl June seem to heal him, she made him stronger, faster, either that or it was part of him being half sea dragon now. Elizabeth's eyes were wide and dark with fright as she clung to him, her eyes closing as she hid her face in his chest. "It's the dragon! I know it's the dragon!" She whimpered.

"It's ok Elizabeth…it could just be Jenny angry or upset." He cooed softly, trying to keep her as calm as possible as he nuzzled her. And low and behold, he was right, yet he was wrong.  Jenny was sitting there, lips locked tightly with Travis's.

"oh no way!" Elizabeth cried with a laugh.
