Deadly Romance chapter 2

Pain radiated through my fingertips, toes, and mouth, I could feel myself becoming unable to stand as I was brought to my knees and the isolated pain became a hot smear on my body, hindering my breath.

"Veil. Wh-what's h-happening?" I begged as I struggled for air. It started to feel like I was on fire as a burning shiver went down my spine and I started shaking uncontrollably.

"You're turning to your true form." He said kneeling besides me as he held my face. "And I can't wait to see it." He whispered as he kissed me ever so softly on the lips. Even in my state of distress, when his lips touched mine, I was completely calm.

"Willow, no matter what happens, you'll be alright." He whispered on my lips. I savored the long awaited moment as I closed my eyes and all the pain in my body disappeared. It felt so right. He was soon on both knees as our kiss deepened, but my transformation was practically draining the life out of me, so I laid my trembling hands on his shoulders, he wrapped his arms around my waist, Then, something strange began to happen, I felt his face move away from mine, but our lips were still touching, my I felt my arms and legs grow short and less flexible and my back became arched a bit, causing Vail to let go of me, and when I opened my eyes, everything was in black and white. Vail broke the kiss and stared at me, His burnt golden-brown eyes were in full color…..which was bemusing considering everything else was color mute.

"You look amazing, my creature of the night." He said scratching behind my thin doglike ear. I wanted to ask what happened but all that came out was barks and yaps. I felt a very tiny breeze behind me, so I turned around only to find nothing behind me, but the breeze was still there. I turned round and round trying to figure out where is was coming from, all of a sudden, Veil stopped me
"That's your tail Willow." He chuckled. I began to bark, no words intended, just barking
"It's ok Willow; you'll turn back to normal tomorrow, but for tonight you are a magnificent beast." Beast; most girls would consider that a major insult… but, for some reason, it was a complement to me, after all he did say MAGNIFICENT in front of it, so it was meant as a complement. "C'mon girl, let's go have some fun." He said getting up. I obediently followed.

"Oh my gosh! That is the most adorable dog!" Briana cried as we walked past her. I began to yap excitedly.

"Oh aren't you just precious!" she exclaimed getting down on her knees and petting me.

"Hehe….I'm about to take her for a walk." Veil interrupted.

"Really? What's her name?" she inquired standing back up.

"You don't recognize her?" he questioned leaning over and clipping a leash on my necklace which had turned into a collar.

"Oh…..Willow? Is that you?" she asked looking at me; I nodded my head and let out a loud bark.
"Sorry I never told you." She apologized, I gave her the best smile I could; it was hard with my long muzzle but I managed to get the message to her.

"Where are you taking her?"

"It's a secret." He replied tugging on my leash.

"Ok, bye, bye Willow." She called waving goodbye as we walked out the door, I wanted to wave, but I couldn't. I had trouble adapting to my new body, I kept tripping and falling over as Veil walked slowly and patently, which was odd because he had always walked 'with a purpose'.

"Heh… don't worry Willow,  it'll take a little while for you to get used to your new body" He said

'well yeah it's hard walkin' on all fours' I thought as we made a wide circle around a street lamp, I was beginning to dislike the light too. Vail made a sudden stop, but I didn't notice, so I kept on walking, only to be cut off by me leash. I turned around, he was standing completely still, staring at the moon; something clicked in my mind. I sat down, looked at the moon, inhaled, then let out a loud howl.
