Deadly Romance chapter 1

"Come on Wolfreya , do be such a wuss." Briana urged pushing me forward. My real name is Willow, but everyone calls me Wolfreya, I never knew why, and when I ask they just say it matches my personality  

"No, I-I can't…" I stammered pushing back.

"He's not gonna hurt you or anything." She said shoving me forward, nearly toppling me over.

"But still…what if I don't know what to say?" I demanded trying to walk out the door

"Then kiss him!" she demanded pulling me back

"That's insane!" I cried in disbelief

"You two have known each other for six years! I think kissing him is a completely sane thing to do!" It's true, I have known him for six years, he and I have been friends since 2nd grade, we never fought, or argued over anything, we always agreed on everything, but something about him had always bothered me, he was as pale and white as a ghost all year long, he's never set foot in the sunlight, his eyes seemed to change color from time to time... from black to burnt golden brown, But I'm a bit strange too, I can be very funny and bubbly and suddenly angry and vicious with no warning. I also have a veracious appetite, mostly for meat, I never really liked vegetables, and whenever I get really angry, I start to shake and feel like I'm burning up.

"Hey Wolfreya." Vail said walking up to me.

"Oh hi Vail." I said in my cheerful tone.

"What are you two talking about?" he inquired with his lopsided grin.

"Nothing much." I replied covering Briana's big mouth before she could speak, I didn't want her telling him anything.

"Nothing much huh? Umm Wolfreya, can I talk to you for a second?" he asked exaggerating the S, he always had a habit of prolonging the S on words when he spoke, and a lot of girls considered it bit strange for doing that.

"Sure." I replied letting go of Briana's mouth. He led me to a dark corner.

"Can I tell you something honestly?" he questioned

"Of course you can." I replied. He looked away from me for a moment, then pulled out a beautiful golden necklace with a wolf head pendant on it.

"Ever since I first met you, I've been wanting to tell you something." He whispered right by my ear.

"What is it?" I said, my heart pounding. It was a long while till he spoke. " You are amazing, and beautiful…..And I think that I….." He trailed off as he wrapped the necklace around my neck and clipping it.

"You what?" I questioned looking at him, directly into his eyes, his eerie burnt, golden-brown eyes.

"I think that I love you." He whispered, I could feel his breath on my neck, it felt strangely cold, even for a winter night, but my heart leaped with joy.

"Really? You mean it?" I asked as he smiled his lopsided smile, but there was something else in his eyes , it looked like….sadness,

"Yes I do, so very much." He replied nodding his head slowly, he continued to stare at me, like he wanted to say something else, but he couldn't.

"Vail," I finally said "it looks like there's something you want to tell me, but you can't" He let out a loud sigh.

"Well, the entire school has been keeping something from you, You know your nickname, behavior, appetite, and your shaking when your mad have a connection right? He asked

"No, I never knew they were connected in any way." I said twisting my amethyst ring around my finger nervously.

"Well they are……… you a descendent of an ancient family of werewolves." He said looking down. "And, my behavior as well is connected. I am a vampire." I couldn't believe what I was hearing,

"Why didn't anyone tell me this?" I demanded. He let out a faint hiss then a chuckle, but it didn't scare me, I was used to it, what did scare me was what happened next
